Nightdrive was a Velocitronian racer. He used to drag-race in the outskirts before he was offered a sponsorship to join in the big races. Making it into the big leagues, he often felt like an impostor. This developed into a facade of his personality, which caused him to say things he wouldn't normally say to fit in with the big shots. Bots he knew in the outskirts grew distant from him as he started to treat them lowly.
Nowadays he can still be a bit rude, but behind his smug personality is someone who is a dork over the concept of racing and speed.
