Ernest doesn't like his name. Don't call him that. "Old man" is the best alternative others came up with, and he will gladly respond to that.
That being said, he's rather young for humanoid unicorn species, as they can live for up to a millenia; he just feels old. He also doesn't take care of himself very well, so he also looks old.
He has had his ramen shop for almost a century; soon, he will celebrate that milestone - if he doesn't get kicked out by then due to the rowdy trio of young adults that haunt it regularly. He doesn't mind them, though, and he happily defends them whenever a chance arises.
