Kamon

Kamon Birch (no relation to the other, more well known Birch) is a researcher/voice actor employed by Silph Co. He's competent in his work, but bad luck seems to plague him wherever he goes. Around the time he was 13, he set off on a journey to complete the Kanto gym league, only to have to abandon it after reaching Fuchsia City after learning his father passed, leaving Kamon to take care of his sick mother. Kamon completed his education and secured a job at Silph shortly before his mother passed. Years later, he accidentally stumbled into a secret project, and his then-boss sent him to Johto indefinitely, to ensure this project never came to fruition. He eventually took the opportunity to battle in the Johto gym league, tagging along with another group of young people all seeking to challenge the Johto league.

Several incidents followed, from indirectly revealing his former boss's true intentions, to coming in contact with legendary Pokemon like Celebi and Giratina, to finding love, before briefly leaving Johto for a time, until returning to finish the league and continue assisting his friends. Sometime after his return, he was captured and subsequently killed by a cultist worshiping Giratina. Giratina had been observing Kamon for months after their first encounter, and offered to revive Kamon in exchange for half of his soul, a deal Kamon reluctantly agreed to. Since then, Kamon has been able to harness the legendary Pokemon's power in small amounts, though not without great consequence to himself.

Despite this turn of events, Kamon still remains the same as he always has: a somewhat bumbling and unlucky but ultimately friendly and caring man, who will put aside his initial trepidations to help those in need when the chips are down. He tends to get annoyed easily by the ignorance of others, which sometimes leads him into rash situations he can't back out of. He may be doubtful about his Pokemon handling abilities compared to his friends, but will quickly put those aside when the situation calls for it.
