Aleksander Day is the biological father of our protagonist, Sorem. At the start of the story, it's presumed he either died or went missing when Sorem was very young.

Since he's not present to tell his own story, everything known about Aleksander is either told by Sorem himself or by his childhood friend and brother-in-law, Ragnar Yarrow. It's known he was an artist.

At the start of the story, Sorem mentions it's his father's anniversary. Together with his uncle, they visit Alek's grave and reminisce about how much they both miss him. It seems Sorem and Ragnar are the only members of the family willing to do so.

ORCS are defined by their husks and third eye. They're also heavily affected by the place they're born. Being born in a big city in the middle of the woods, as an infant Aleksander's skin turned green and his hair, dark brown.
