A woman hailing from the region of Kitakami, Ayame used to be Mossui Town's former nurse, before becoming bored of the routine and deciding to become a traveler and hiker.
She has since traveled to many regions, and reached the summit of many mountains; in occasions, she even fought Gym Challenges. She's much happier with her current life, though she still aids anyone who may need it.
Like her entire family, she was trained ever since she was young to work as a Pokémon Center Nurse. Just like the vast majority of them, she passed her exams with flying colors. However, it didn't take long for her to be discontent with her career, as successful as she might've been.
One day, a hiker trying to make banter suggested she became a hiker, too. Though she brushed off the thought at that moment, later, she realised that it'd be a perfect career path for her; she loved traveling, and the thrill of reaching new places wouldn't be comparable. So, she handed in her resignation, and began following her dreams, starting with her travels around the Unova region, then the Hoenn region, and so on.

- She was inspired by the song "So Desu Ne" by FFS.
- Her current profession, that of a hiker, as well as her epiphet, is in reference to the line "She's a mountaineer of love."
- Her past profession, being a Nurse Joy, is in reference to the line "She's an ambulance sometimes."
- Her surname, Kenzo, is in reference to the line "Nothing but a Kenzo kimono on."
- She has more Pokémon on her bag, though she keeps three Pokémon that can ride and three Pokémon capable of healing with her at all times.
She's been to his restaurant a few times, though she has no interest in challenging him in a Gym battle.
When she's extremely bored and has nothing else to do, she'll tune in to Lila's streams.
