Valen is a loveable idiot who does his best and is very passionate about the things he loves/holds dear , especially the people.
( Filler backstory here lol I don't feel like writing it all up rn )
Valen gets severely injured in a fight but is taken in by the enemy , at first to be held hostage / tortured for information. However his captor slowly grows to feel pity for Valen and starts trying to help him out.
Valen grows to appreciate this , as its all he really has in the moment. However despite what this person does to help , the main antagonist still uses their magic against Valen to control him into doing their evil bidding.
Valen harbors a lot of guilt for this of course , however its not technically anything against his own will as he's being controlled by dark magic and curses to do the things he does now.
Valen is of course not content being evil / bad , it's not like he wanted this for himself or Briar , there's just not much he can do in his own powers/merits , or at least not without the help of others...
Briar may have something to do with saving him in the future , alongside Vee and the other characters in my headworld.
