"Way to Go, Pussycat!" is a small comic series created by yours truly (Blake Nightingale or just Vamp/Vampire). It follows a private investigator, Daniel Burton, on his journey to avenge his childhood best friend in 1920s America. However, things don't turn out exactly as planned... When Daniel wakes up, he finds himself in an unknown hospital. Welcome to Hell were the last words he'd expect to hear by the nurse... See how Daniel copes with his new life as a human soul in Hell, and how he plans on finding the man that killed his friend.

Q.&.A

Q. What inspired you to create this project?

A. I can't really say I was inspired by any media in particular other than maybe Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss and Lackadaisy, but even that's a stretch since I haven't watched either of them. I wanna say they inspire my general aesthetic and story choice. Another big inspiration for me is BL (boys love) comics I've read involving the Yakuza or Kkangpae - no specific one other than maybe Under the Greenlight. As someone who enjoys the 1920s aesthetics as well as involvement of Angelic/Demonic beings, I thought this comic would be the perfect idea!

Q. Who are the main characters?

A. The main character is Daniel Burton, a private investigator that lives in Chicago but who dies of alcohol poisoning and is sent to the third circle of Hell - Gluttony. Gabriel Caponi is the son of a mafia don and the secondary main character, as well as the one Daniel is hunting down. Supposedly... While Daniel is a human, Gabriel is a Fallen Angelborne who ends up in Hell soon after his own death. Angelborne are beings created mortal but with angelic souls, and are destined to go to Heaven to become angels when they die. Fallen Angelborne are Angelborne who have sinned in some way during their life on Earth without repenting, thus leading them to Hell once they die.

Q. What will updates look like?

A. At the moment, the comic is still being worked on. I plan on finishing most if not the whole thing before uploading it to Tumblr and Toyhouse. It'll most likely be a chapter per week.

Q. Where does this take place?

A. Primarily in 1920s Hell, set in my own original universe that I've been building upon for years now.

And I believe that's the end of the introduction! I will be posting art of my own here and there involving the comic, such as reference sheets, general mock-ups, and so on. I hope everyone who decided to read through this follows along with my work and enjoys it just as much as I do!
