Faen is an anomaly, and matches both extrovert and introvert. The first word to describe him would be "elegant", and a second one could be "aloof". Even outside the water he carries himself with an innate dignity and grace. He possesses a keen and cold-blooded intelligence that views the world through calculating and uncaring eyes, and makes use of an analytical mind and powerful psionic abilities to explore many such worlds with rigid focus. Sentimentality matters little when delving into the deep and dark places of the universe, and he is well aware of the risk should that focus ever waver. After all, as a starfaring species tasked with studying all sorts of anomalies, such protocols are standard.

Waver it did. When presented with the opportunity to interact with an ancient artifact more alien than himself, the ravenous hunger for knowledge was louder than the rigid self-control. To put it in short, he was then simply 'ripped' out - ripped out of his own place, his own civilization, his own body, and eventually his own universe. The time of assuming the form of something *ancient* was barely noticed in the moment, and the memories afterwards remain a confused and fragmented jumble. Even when being separated from the artifact, he wasn't given any time to notice - the same instant he was returned to his old body was the instant he was shunted out of his universe and into somewhere else.

He still wonders how much of his memory is true, how much was lost, and how much is just figments of his imagination. Hardly any evidence of "that time" remains on himself, aside from an immense store of psionic potential. One he would rather not tap into if given a choice, as this carries the risk of calling on what he calls the "leviathan" mind. Still, he knows when to use any of his abilities in the strange and dimension-hopping trek his life has become to put the fragments back together.

However, there are certain moods or locations that bring out a softer and brighter side of the fish-lizard. A side more curious than exploitative, more reflective than cold. One of these is being on the open sea, surrounded by nothing but the rolling waves and rushing wind, completely in his element and completely free from landmasses or civilizations; simply in nature. Another one of these is during the deep night-time, with a sky clear enough to see the stars and constellations rippling above - a similar reason of being in his element, as then his bioluminescent markings and patterns are most obvious and he remembers another life among the stars.
