Ethnicity: Half Mondstadt, half Fontaine (her mother was Fontainian)

With aspirations to perform ballet on a wide Fontainian stage, Roesia’s dreams are crushed after she’s inflicted with a curse.

Her journey to cure herself would take her to Sumeru, where she encounters Nabu Malikata, the Goddess of Flowers. As her nation is caught in the throes of Forbidden Knowledge, Nabu enlists the help of Roesia and her curse to aid her people. In return for her help, Roesia is blessed by Nabu with the ability to control dendro-endued flowers.

In Mondstadt, the symbolism of a rose is to keep a secret. So, as wine bottles are corked, so too are my lips sealed. As a blend of her divine blessing and curse, roses and thorns would bloom from her skin and adorn her body. This serves as a symbolic reminder to Roesia to seal away the truth of her curse.

The Goddess of Flowers would pass in the Cataclysm, but Roesia carries on her masters teachings in Sumeru for the next half-millenia. She continues to live as the ballerina embodying both celestial’s favour and disdain, a walking oxymoron.
