Sascha is an eclectic scientist studying the creatures in the deep sea, but the dark has gotten to their head. Though skilled with magic, having spent years mastering a seawing core, they struggle to understand the ethics of magic. Once tempered by the more level-headed, cautious dragon Mariya, they’ve been left abandoned, and his sanity is fraying—their morals, worse so.

At present, they lives on an islet crag near the seaside, close to his work. Though quick to irritation and wanting to be left alone, they have encountered the much younger dragon Zinovii. Platonic soul-mates of a sort, Zinovii helps Sascha to reconnect with their heart, and Sascha helps to protect Zinovii from the cruelty in the world—in their own, not entirely uncruel, way.

Sascha’s magic is a sea-core mastery, with emphasis on the manipulation of fluid within the body and mind. They have skill in cloud-core and air-work, leading to them to attempt to create life, or reanimate it. They hide their experiments in the deep, using whale falls as their experimentation ground.

Mariya is not certain of the exacts of her accident, and neither is Sascha, but it is very likely they made an attempt to manipulate Mariya as she used her magic to stabilize the pressure surrounding Sascha’s working place. When Sascha’s magic alarmed her, the pressure collapsed inward. Both of them were barely able to escape the implosion—having to use innate magic brought on by intense fear and panic—to stave the pressure from ripping them apart.

Sascha is not skilled at innate magic, and this instance is the only time he has ever recorded using it, they rely mostly on illustrating their spells.
