Dante

Dante used to be flirty, positive, and in love once upon a time. When he was much younger and newly formed, he was like a different person. It all changed after his 1st divorce with a human of all people. He was young and in love with a terrible human who had nothing but bad intentions. It was so long ago, not even Dante really remembers what they looked like or even if it was a man or a woman. The only thing Dante remembers is their voice. They had a gorgeous singing voice, one to rival some of the Melody tent residents to Dante. And Dante was a friendly sort who got along with humans too so he had coincidentally met and befriended this singing human unknowing of their foul intentions. Dante would protect and hide this human, slowly getting to know and falling in love with them. The secret of the carnihell would then eventually be spilled by Dante, actually shortly before proposing. Dante remembers the human being accepting and taking the information surprisingly well for a human. Which lead Dante to proposing shortly after. The whole affair was kept top secret between the two.

Now Dante never questioned the human, like how they kept finding Dante in the traveling circus before he began hiding them in the circus. He never even questioned how the human's behavior changed after they got married, like how they became harsh. Cruel like a totally different person, but Dante didn't dare question it. He is a hopeless romantic and was at some point deeply in love with this human so he let them be, he let them turn their fake(tho he didnt know) relationship toxic. The only person who knew exactly what was going on was Dante's ring leader, Momo. She was okay with the dating until she found out about the betrayal, where is offered to take the human's soul since she was furious. Dante begrudgingly had to agree though he felt heartbroken and wanted to believe they were still in love.
