The first of the main Inkite quintet to be brought to the Alternan memory simulation, and thus, the one that remembers the most of her past life.
Mayumi has lived in the simulation for quite a long time, and has grown used to the wear and tear it leaves on the brain. She has much to be troubled over, yet she keeps her cheerful and bright face on for everyone else.
Mayumi's joy is often described as "contagious" - she's got an instinctual sense of how to cheer everyone else up. Without her, it's very likely that the other six could have fallen apart already.
She has a great love for all arts and aesthetics. Mayumi was once an aspiring fashion design student in Inkopolis Square. but was taken away shortly after visiting the Splatlands to research its rich culture and chaotic design choices. As Pier has said, Mayumi "radiates the energy of some Inkopolis show-off, but she's got the show to put on, so who am I to judge?"
Mayumi being the first to be brought to the simulation also means she was the first one to feel the Inkite's effects on her body. She was the first to be driven insane by its effects, deemed "The Manic" after losing full control. While she was presumed dead after being defeated in this state, she was later found alive outside of the simulation.
After all members of the simulation escaped, Mayumi joined Midnight Zone as a drummer - and the costume designer!
Design notes:
- Umm shes an inkling yknow the whole deal don't erase that. If u need to stylize it it's fine just make sure you're not making her human
- See this is where I usually put my company line "if you need to simplify go ahead" but I'm not sure if there's much to simplify in the first place so. WOOOHOOO
