[ LYDIA . she/her . supervillain . “ECLIPSE” ]

aka “the queen”/“the mastermind”

introducing: the characters that took over as my main hyperfixation story……. and originally started out as just a superhero au of my other story that resided in my brain nonstop.

lydia allison callisto! aka the villain known as eclipse, one half of the villain duo of eclipse and solstice. she is 29, transfem, and her superpower gives her access to anyone else’s thoughts and feelings. it usually only works when she’s touching someone, but even a fleeting touch can allow access to that person’s thoughts for a good while. crowds are her worst nightmare, since she ends up touching a lot of people whose thoughts and feelings won’t leave her head until minutes or even hours later. but what’s more important to her is that she specializes in using her brain and technology to get what she wants rather than brute force or her powers— though that doesn’t mean she’s incapable or unwilling to use either, of course. she mostly runs things behind the scenes, earning her the media nickname of “the queen” or “the mastermind”, but is always by her partner in life and crime— ezra—‘s side in a fight. when she decides to get her own hands bloody, it’s more of a threat than when ezra does so. where he has pure strength to crush his enemies and uses it often, she has… imagination, so to say, and rarely holds back on those few occasions where she gets involved in the actual fight.

lydia’s primary motivation for becoming a villain is her pure hatred for the people in power who have the ability to change the corruption and yet a lack of action doing so. she comes from a wealthy family who are heavily involved in the tech industry, and her background gave her plenty of insight of just how messed up everything is, hence her target on those people specifically.

her personality is easily described as “annoyingly captivating and aware of it.” both her and ezra have plenty of charm, of course, it’s one of their intentional strengths that makes audiences [and sometimes the heroes they’re against] root less for their downfalls— but lydia is a master of using hers to get her way, especially with how intelligent she is. part of that is making everything she does purposeful and theatrical, making people feel like they’re watching or part of a performance. she can be genuinely caring towards those she has deemed “her people”, willing to tear out the throat of anyone who threatens them with her bare hands— but that list is incredibly small, only consisting of ezra at the moment. though perhaps a certain hero will make the list in the future?

lydia and ezra are so famous in big part because they make such a good duo, so clearly adoring of each other and so very deadly when they want to be. this and their charm has the world divided in opinions on them. but the other reason they’re so popular is their intense rivalry with the hero known as luna moth. the three have such a unique dynamic that their fights have very high watch rates on tv and social media. lydia in particular loves to play on the media’s ships between either her and luna moth or ezra and luna moth all the time in fights, easily flustering her rival who refuses to admit that it bothers them. but both villains have a high respect for luna moth that they don’t hold for other heroes, though luna moth doesn’t realize it.

her left arm is amputated from a bit below her shoulder, lost in a fight with luna moth [though it wasn’t the hero’s fault, just collateral damage from their fight where she got trapped underneath the wrong destroyed building. this doesn’t stop her from teasing them about it in the future, nor does it stop luna moth from feeling absolutely terrible about it despite her being their enemy]. lydia made her own prosthetic arm, with ezra’s help to actually put the thing together. this is one of the few scars she has from her villainy, as ezra has since been hyperaware of not allowing her to get hurt as much he can.

fun fact: lydia REFUSES to wear any outfit that isn’t achromatic with purple, and rarely wears anything other than a dress/skirt with heels or platform boots. she has an aesthetic to uphold, alright? the exception to this is her boyfriend’s clothes, which tend towards warmer colors, so she can get the proper girlfriend experience of wearing a too-big hoodie— though her clothing sizes should actually be bigger than his since she’s taller. also, she adjusts most of ezra’s outfits and clothing choices for him to help him achieve the genderqueer look he wants rather than the straight man vibe he unfortunately tends towards.Â
