the year is 1995
a new swarm of students are entering the Redtome Academy for the Magical Arts. Among them is a young girl, coming from a nonmagical family. The youngest of 7, Juniper Dukes was never anything special. Her entire life, her older brothers and sisters had done everything she ever wanted to do, and had done it much better and bolder than she could ever dream. But now, she could become better than them. She could become magical.
She had enrolled in the magical healing program, as that had stood out to her the most, and throughout her years as a student showcased an incredible talent for the healing arts. She made almost perfect grades, was recognized for many academic rewards, and eventually managed to find an apprenticeship at one of the top magical hospitals in the world. The apprenticeship would take the place of her 8th year, as 8th year focuses mostly on career training, and students can chose to take apprenticeships or go straight into careers instead.
On April 13th, 2001, Juniper Dukes went missing from the halls of Redtome. Fellow students and teachers say that she had been acting strange and erratic for the whole day prior, and her roommate, Savannah Prince, noted that for the past month or so she had been incredibly secretive towards her, even changing the password to the room on multiple occasions without telling her roommate.
Nowadays, the students of Redtome have many rumors about what could have happened to Juniper Dukes, however according to other students and teachers at the school this is the most accurate account: Juniper Dukes was sitting in an Advanced Medicinal Alchemy class when she began to have sort of a fit. A few reports are exaggerated, claiming things like her eyes rolling to the back of her head, but all the reports include her mumbling something about the Great Lady. Many at the time believed this could be referring to the original Sorceress who started the school, as in many historical texts she is referred to as the "Great Lady", however this is only speculation. At one point during her fit, she fell out of her chair, alerting the teacher, and he instructed her to step out into the hall to collect herself. Juniper seemed to be slightly dazed according to accounts, and some say she stumbled on her way out, but she eventually entered the hallway.
After fifteen minutes, the instructor looked out into the hallway to call Juniper back in, only to find she had disappeared from the hallway. Confused, he released his class early and went to locate the girl. After searching around for an afternoon, he found nothing, and Juniper Dukes appeared to have disappeared into thin air.
A few students and staff claim to have seen her roaming the halls before her disappearance. She seemed to be following something that only she could see. Juniper Dukes is believed by many investigators to be dead or have committed suicide, however currently her files still state that she is missing. Three years later, four human teeth were found in an empty classroom in the school when it went to be searched. The teeth were later identified to belong to Juniper Dukes, leading many to believe that she may have been tortured before she was removed from the school.
What truly happened to Juniper Dukes is a mystery amongst students, and at this point has become more of a scary story than anything else. Many claim that she haunts the school, specifically the classroom where her teeth were found, and likes to steal the teeth of unsuspecting first years (this rumor is perpetrated mostly towards first years by fifth and sixth years). Out of respect and memory for Juniper, the classroom where her teeth were found is no longer in use, and remains empty. Juniper's older sister, Teresa, and older brother Cameron, have expressed their distaste with the school and with magical law enforcement for not being able to figure out what happened to their younger sister.
