Originally from an old project, Zuri has been adapted to Odyssia lore. She lives in the forest near Kiyte and occassionally goes into nearby villages to do jobs in the black market, buy food and get basic necessities.
- Zuri is legally blind, she can see blurry outlines and shapes, but can't see very far.
- She prefers close combat. Weapons include a spear and her own fists and teeth.
- Zurisaday speaks with a lisp and has difficulty speaking
- Zuri excels at hunting and trapping.
- Zuri's teeth are abnormally large on one part of her face, she cannot physically close her mouth all the way.
- She still has slightly visible irises, but they are covered in an opaque white glaze.
- She has prominent, sharp nails.
- She tends to be in ripped clothing that cover most of if not all of her body. She also tends to wear bandages beneath her clothes.
Early Life
Zuri was born in Twikher to two Daemon parents. She lived in one of the many rural villages and had a comfortable life. As she grew up, she learned how to hunt and a few essential homemaking skills by her mother and father. When she began a preteen, her father taught her how to live in the wild.
Zuri enjoyed going on trips towards the more industrialized Arridía with her father, and would accompany him on trips to Arridía twice a year starting at the age of 14. At the age of 17, while making the journey to Arridía, Zuri was attacked at the camp by a monster. Her eye was scratched out by the eldritch creature and she was rushed towards a nearby village to get treated.
The Blight
Disease
After reaching the village, Zuri was treated for her initial injuries and sent off towards her hometown. A few days after, she began showing symptoms of the Blight. Zuri's life changed for the worse when she contracted the Blight. Being in a rural village, and treatments for the Blight being extremely expensive or rare to find, her family ultimately decided there was nothing they could do to help Zuri. They waited until the symptoms worsened to be sure it was Blight, and when the blisters began to present themselves, they kicked Zuri out of the house.
Zuri spent much of her year after that attempting to locate a Blighted village to settle down in. She traveled towards Arridía and was ultimately shunned by most of the urban neighborhoods. While there, she met Connie and also got word of Blighted villages and resources up north. Connie and Zuri bonded over their shared shunning from society, and decided to leave together for the quieter settlements around the hemisweis forests.
Present
Soon after Zuri found a Blighted village, she began to develop antisocial traits and paranoia. She began to have extreme social anxiety, even around the other Blighted, and left the village to live on her own in the forest.
Now, Zuri lives in the forest surrounding Kiyte and a few other settlements trapping monsters for money and living in seclusion. Due to her Blight, Zuri is usually not allowed near village shops, and relies on Connie for trading and food.
Friend
Connie is Zuri's closest second friend, who she met right after developing Blight. Zuri spends of her free time goofing off with Connie, and relies on him heavily to get resources and money from villages. In return, Zuri provides protection and food for Connie.
Friend
Chatura is Zuri's closest friend. They met at a very young age, since before Zuri became Blighted, and have since stuck together after that.
Nemesis
Clara is a head doctor working underneath a Demivice Priest. She is widely believed to have had some part in the Twikher Blight outbreak. Clara has already publicly confessed to aiding the shut down of hospitals and interfering with shipment of Blight Cures in order to worsen to the outbreak. Zuri fully believes her responsible and wishes to kill Clara for revenge.
On the outside, Zuri seems like a calm and reserved person. They solemn speak to those they don't know, and tend to keep to themselves when possible, even going as far as hunting their own food to avoid going into the town.
In actuality, Zuri is simply extremely antisocial. She has intense social anxiety and prefers to stick to herself and preexisting relationships. The Blight has since tainted her mental health, making her more depressed and paranoid. Zuri's antisocial behavior often presents through extreme aggressiveness, a carelessness of others' emotions, and a difficulty showing empathy and gratefulness.
