Mortem has weak lungs and air pollution can give him a coughing fit instantly which is why he wears his gas mask. Despite that when hes in especially bad places mentally he still smokes. The reprocussions are heavy so to say.

BIO
Mortem is someone who could be considered a recluse. He didnt take social interactions to liking and always kept to himself, always lurking beneath the shadows, working.
He never reached out to have friends and kept to himsel. He was never truly able to connect with others as he was interested in other things and saw others as shallow. Having a sense of humor no one else understood purely because its so engrained in medical jokes and such lead him to be the only one who laughs at them.
Part of it was him being frequently excluded for being "weird" as others put it. he loved biology and science, and took an interest to blood and dissections. That in turn excluded him from the rest of the world, and he didnt bother trying to go back in.
"Humans and 'humanity' dont always go together"
It was a habit of his, saying such ominous things to people that he wanted they leave him alone, it mostly worked save for a few who apparently liked the dangers of sociopathic apathy. It never went right, anger and him never pair well together, not cause it ddnt fit him, it absolutely does. But because the blinding anger made him do things he regretted later, and that regret eats him from the inside even when he buries it further than 6 feet underground.
Being nearly godly had its ups and lows, challenging nature and curing the impossible was a fast forward for society. Yet it all was done by a name with no surname, no exact age, and no face. It is as if all of him was erased from history.
