Emberstrike is a cautious and stratigic cat, though hotheaded. He's known for his skills in fighting and (slight) clumsiness.
Emberstrike, as an apprentice, was more impulsive and less strategic, but his mentor, Ripplestream, taught him to be less impulsive and cautious.
as much as I'd like to say the opposite, Emberstrike did not have an edgy backstory, he was raised with his two siblings, Frostbreeze and Larkshadow, with two parents who are still alive, both his siblings are alive, probably the worst thing that happened in his kithood was sneaking out of camp and getting scolded.

03 — Background
Kithood
In kithood, Emberstrike was a feisty kit, frequently (affectionately) squabbling with his sister and sneaking out of camp. He was pretty normal.
Apprenticehood
In apprenticehood, he was apprenticed to Ripplestream, who was a bit cold and distant, but still a good teacher. Him and his mentor weren't actually too close, but Emberstrike still thanks Ripplestream for teaching him whenever they talk.
Warriorhood
Pre-prophecy, he was a great fighter that frequently participated in border skrimishes and patrols. The scars that adorn his pelt are all from border skrimishes, nobody really wanted to mess w/ him.
Post-prophecy, he held his values close, and while him and his sister and.. some other guy ventured the lands to find where their ancestors went, he learned to be more accepting to the youngest's way of thinking, developing a friendship with him.
