An adeptus that has garnered quite a reputation for himself in Liyue Harbor— both for his expertise when it comes to the courtroom, and his eccentric behavior.

Long Mian is often described as simultaneously one of the most intelligent yet ridiculous men in Liyue Harbor. He's an accomplished statesman, a law professor that has received countless accolades, and a centuries old illuminated beast. All very impressive... though perhaps slightly undercut by his sheer flair for the dramatics. Exceptionally petty, Long Mian is quick to misconstrue perfectly innocuous things as a purposeful, targeted slight against him or his character. He is prone to going into quite the theatrical diatribes against others because of this, and he is not one to forgive and forget such 'attacks' against him. His opinion of himself is high, debatably over-inflated, and he demands respect from people he views as on, or below, his level— essentially, almost everyone. His stubbornness and fragile ego are other points of contention; he abhors being proven wrong or being corrected in any capacity. These traits all culminate to polarizing opinions around him: his many years of work in bettering Liyue's legal system cannot be ignored, but dealing with him personally (particularly while trying to stay on his good side) can be a challenging ordeal akin to scaling the peaks of Mt. Hulao.

In spite of his difficult-to-approach demeanor and even more difficult personality, Long Mian does have redeeming qualities that lead many to tolerate or set aside his more outright annoying antics. He's dedicated to his work and principled, putting care into many smaller details others may skimp over or not give the proper attention needed. The people who manage to befriend him, come to discover a rather protective side of him (sometimes, to an embarrassing extent) that genuinely comes from a well-meaning place. He even can come across as pretty cute at times when it comes to talking to other adepti, particularly those he considers more knowledgeable than him in certain fields or that are significantly older than him, sometimes even bordering on fanboyish behavior (naturally, provided he hasn't already decided said adeptus is secretly plotting against him or has somehow 'wronged' him).
