Shakir Ghaly; strong, quiet, just. While he appears to be the average collage student, he is anything but. Behind this everyday man is a past buried in mystery. Unbeknownst to even himself, his true identity is that of the Egyptian God Anubis- god of funerary rites, protector of graves, and guide to the underworld

Is this just fantasy?

While he doesn't remember his real past, in its place is one of creature comforts and monetary riches. Shakir recalls a large house, with busy parents who showed more love through gifts than action. He never minded, of course, especially since he had Tariq, his twin brother, to keep him company. The two were always rather close thanks to having similar interests, so life was never lonely nor boring. As a child, he remembers seeing hunting trophies dotted along the pristine walls of their home and being fascinated by them. He quickly picked up on pinning and framing insects (beetles being his favorite) which morphed into a full fledged interest in taxidermy. He would often accompany his father and brother on their hunts, usually picking out the best to take home and work on. Despite his unique hobby, his school life was unspectacular, that isn't to say he was mediocre, in fact he was a wonderful student - great attendance, excellent grades, quiet... - but his reserved demeanor typically kept him at arms length from his peers. While he was on positive terms with many of them, it's no surprise they no longer keep in touch.

Caught in a landslide

After graduation, the twins' parents offered them a deal. If the boys were to survive college life with minimal assistance and learn true independence- struggles and all- then they would be rewarded with, what they dubbed, a 'life starter fund.' A decent chunk of money for them to purchase their own homes with. Shakir wasn't thrilled with the proposition, but how could he not take the offer? After much deliberation, the twins decided on the relatively small yet prestigious Dioversity.
