legend deems this beast the "crying child". it's said that this particular entity used to be a child once, lost in the woods and never found—and, after a time, consumed by something bigger than themself, merged with a horde of maws & claws much more dangerous than they used to be. you could call them a vessel for something more sinister if you stretched the story, but in reality their parent god is a mindless thing—simply hungry, with the instinct to spread."
