a pair of incredibly driven researchers. self centered, barely pays mind to a single person outside of them+their love
- mutters the more sociable+persuasive of the two, babble the more curious+insensitive. the line between the two of them blurs a lot, especially with their tendency to lean Into that confusion (finds a great deal of amusement from it)
- were created as angels, served under fluisau. while mutter was always devoted and content, babble wished to push the envelope further no matter what (went thru a phase pursuing servitude under tailsearch entirely because he thought learning of every way people can drive themselves upon the spears of their own ambition would keep Him from doing the same)
- the two were cast down for self mutilation, having found a way to siphon holy energy from their wings+halos and use it as a wash over a pair of iron shears which could cut paths into abandoned timelines. got off relatively easy because of fluisau's soft spot for them+their own curiosity over what the pair would find
- though it was the start of an idea while they were still angels, their casting out was the great push to set them on their life path- THE INQUEST. a search into the true origins of reality and the discovery of and then consequent uprooting of thule's great deceit
- a bit of mutter always trailing after babble- never as quick on the uptake, doesn't put clues together as quickly as the other- though he is the only person ever that babble will slow down for (if he notices it. gets better over time)
- capricious, unyoked, and driven entirely by their own ambitions. every step they take is one closer to the truth
