The Lasair family had a history of serving the Thorm dynasty. To cope with the passing of their daughter, Mykyl and Aemie Lasair constructed a living doll in her likeness. Following the Shadow Curse's emergence, her "parents" were killed, and Ziri remained a prisoner in the House of Healing. For a century, she endured experiments performed on her by Malus Thorm and the nurses she once considered friends. The only pain she felt was emotional, mourning her creators on and off for years until they all but faded from her memory. When the curse lifted, she was free, but she was alone again, so she sought any companionship.
