Story

A Solmic border guard who was originally part of a platoon stationed at the Elusian border. While resting and tending to some minor injuries at a village near the Oasis, she is convinced to get back into the fray after finding out the very village she is recovering in was being defended from a bandit attack. The forces defending this village also happened to include the prince and princess of Solm in their ranks, which instatly convices Macara to stay with the Divine Dragon's forces, mostly so she can continue fighting alongside the future leaders of her nation. Additionally, the opportunity to travel to and see other nations was too good for her to pass up.
She has a ring size of 9.5(S.5) and is the most easily flustered ally in the army.

Personality

Macara is generally cordial, if not a bit reserved. She has a tendency to subdue her emotions around most others but can be observed with a generally brighter disposition when (she thinks she is) in solitude.

Macara is full of love for her desert homeland and prides herself on being a knight who defends its people. She speaks especially fondly of her prince and princess in conversation, citing their actions as the inspiration for her own. Her sense of duty and loyalty to the crown drives Macara to push herself to and beyond her own limits. Buried beneath this fealty is a deeper interest in the prince and princess on a personal level, similar to having a crush. Macara has to try very hard to hold herself together and avoid becoming flustered when speaking to them. She denies having any sort of "unwarranted feelings" towards them when mentioned, and believes that such passion towards her superiors has no place in her profession. However, she would happily do any sort of task or favor for them, with a bright, rosy-cheeked smile beaming on her face the entire time. Macara is a bit envious of the royal retainers, as having the job of being around and protecting the future leaders all of the time sounds like a dream to her.

Macara is also intrigued by the world outside her home and wants to befriend people from other lands to learn more about them. However, she became a bit self-conscious since joining the Divine Dragon's rather diverse forces. Being in much closer contact to foreign royalty than she'd ever thought she'd get has left her concerned about not being well-versed in formal speech. She fears offending another country's heir by unknowingly addressing them too casually.

When annoyed, she shows a sarcastic, ruthless tongue and the quickest way to reveal this harsh side of her is being self-absorbed and condescending.

Interests

Sewing is her main hobby, and has made adorments for the armor and weapons of her and her companions. She is also knowledgeable in making and mending clothes and cloth decor. Macara also has a habit of gently humming or vocalizing when she is focused, whether it be during sewing, while she's out for a walk, or enjoying an especially good meal, so long as she is in solitude. While she does find it fun, she is also self conscious of the noise she sometimes makes and becomes greatly embarrased if someone else hears her.

Macara's weapon of choice on the battlefield is the sword, though she is also capable of wielding a lance and bow. She does not consider her skills with the latter two weapons to be polished enough for her to use them on a real battlefield, and claims to practice these two weapons as a hobby that also doubles as a form of training. Macara is VERY strong, her strength being the result of long, grueling training sessions, that not many can endure for as long as she can. Her efforts to surpass her own limits leads to her overworking herself during training, sometimes getting dangerously close fainting from fatigue.

Backstory

Macara is a woman hailing from the Oasis Village, who was orphaned at an age too young for her to possibly remember, and adopted as an infant by a pair of clothiers named Carmil and Marayne. Her parents of course shared their knowledge of cloth crafting and business with her, and she also traveled with them across the corners of Solm as part of a merchant caravan. This caravan was one day hassled by bandits until a roaming militia came to their rescue and took down those bandits, causing Macara to realize she needed to learn how to protect herself. She developed impressive skills with a blade by mimicking mercenaries who were occasionally hired to escort them during travels, and ended up joining the knighthood later.

Before joining the Divine Dragon's party, Macara and her platoon on the Elusian border were given the crucial duty of relaying information on any noteworthy individuals who attempted to cross over directly to the palace, due to the possibility of the Divine Dragon entering Solm from there. A similar task was given to the guards stationed at the Firenese border to cover both of the nations' main entry points. It is in part due to her efforts in this mission that her prince was able to locate the Divine Dragon's group when they actually did enter Solm from the Elusian border.

Ending

After the war, Macara returned to Solm and assisted in rebuilding war-damaged areas. She took some time to travel across the continent with her parent's caravan and trade with fellow sellers in each of the war-torn nations. Upon her final return, she helped her parents open a tailor shop in the castle town and eagerly took up a new position in the Sentinels so she could continue to wander.
Historians debate over whether or not she married due to conflicting records, but she did live a fulfilling and joyful life nevertheless, keeping in contact with close companions in the castle and distant ones across the other nations.
