THE DEVIL IN THE SHADOWS, ALSO KNOWN AS SALEM, is a demon who lurks on abandoned train tracks and in the sinuous corridors of backstage areas. Despite this, there's nothing he loves more than attention and being in the spotlight - he always finds himself drawn back to the stage. His dramatic mannerisms have charmed many a being in his lifetime.

Salem is a shapeshifter demon, and as such, he can don many appearances. His default one has red skin, reddish-brown curly hair and curved horns on the sides of his head. His wings are dark pink and orange, mimicking the colour of a passion fruit.
Salem also has some cat genes: this gives him the ability to change his ears to cat ears. It makes black fur grow along the edges of his face. It also makes his horns disappear, and replaces his demon tail with a sleek, short-furred cat tail. His hands also become furred and clawed.
- He can wear any outfits I would wear, and more!
- His tailtip is harpoon-shaped, like a half-arrow.
- His teeth and claws are hot pink.
- Shapeshifter. Can be anything he wants to be!
- His shapeshifting can get away from him sometimes: when startled, he can inadvertently take a different form, usually that of a feral cat.
- Can use some magic. Eyes glow when he does.
