Legend has it that when a demon dies, their souls can accidentally break apart and fall to earth. If those soul shards happen to touch a living creature, they develop features that the demon once had.

In Kami’s case, she was just a young kitten when she accidentally touched the soul shard. It transformed her to have a pointed demon tail, antennae-like horns, and her fur developed weird patterns on her back and shoulders.

Since Kami was so young, she accidentally also inherited part of the demon’s personality. Making her almost always grumpy and looking for trouble.
