Skrying the Future

Appearance:

Caelen is slender and willowy in build, standing at about five foot eight. He has toffee colored skin, warm and rich. While he has eyes of gold, with flecks of green and amber swimming in their depths. His hair is a deep, full plum color that cascades in thick ripples to his lower back. He often keeps it tied up in either a tight fishtail braid or in looser, messier braids. Despite this, he can’t control the wisp of bangs that sweep over the left side of his face; he’s constantly having to brush them out of his face. He has often been described as girlish and he fully uses that to his advantage to get what he wants. Caelen prefers to dress in airy, billowing clothes of vibrant colors. He loves to layer and is often found with jangling, sparkling bangles hanging from his wrists and light, wispy scarves about his neck. His ears are pierced up into the cartilage and he has a fondness for large hoop or chandelier earrings. He tends to wear warmer colors as the complement his skin and eyes more but can do cooler if the urge strikes. When traveling he often wears a floppy hat reminiscent of witches, leading locals to call him “Sir Witch”. He despises wearing shoes, much preferring to go about barefoot. He wears simple ballet flats when forced to as they give him the illusion of being barefoot.

Talents, powers, or special skills:

Caelen is a fortune teller and magician by trade. He’s very adept with reading tarot cards and the stars. His magical skills include skrying, protection magic, summoning spells, and magical wards. He’s practicing with magic that includes the elements and is getting better and better. In addition to his magical abilities, Caelen has prophetic dreams and can hear the whispers of those in other realms. He considers it both a blessing and a curse. Unrelated, Caelen is a very skilled in belly and baladi dancing.

Personality:

Inquisitive, Caelen is very curious about the world around him. That and his skills are what led him to magic and fortune telling. This curiosity is usually what determines his actions and more often than not gets him into heaps of trouble. But Caelen has a silver tongue and is easily able to talk his way out of most predicaments he finds himself in. This makes him popular as a fortune teller as well. He is high spirited and full of boundless energy. He loves to travel and experience everything he can. Nothing much gets him down except when he reflects on his frustratingly blank past.
