Dima grew up just outside the city of Rēzekne in eastern Latvia. He had always been a quiet kid and excelled with mathematics in school. An interest in mechanics lead him to a brief stint in a car shop out of high school.

Though after pressure from his family, he left it all behind to devote himself to the church; becoming a priest at age 26. Though it would not last as he ended up with feelings for another man in his church.

He chose to leave the church only a few years later when he had come to accept his sexuality. Though out of fear of his family finding out, he was quick to enlist in the military.

Dima's learned patience and knack for mathematics lead him to be a successful marksman and sniper, and he was recruited into the SUV. Taking on additional training for covert operations. His past as a priest came in handy as it was an easy cover to fall back into.

During a long-term joint international mission he was often teamed up with a Swedish sniper by the name of Swiss. It took some time for Dima to warm up to Swiss, initially finding the Swede's strange need to touch him and the lack of verbal filter uncomfortable. But over time, the two hit it off really well. Soon the two were practically inseperable.

Despite his best attempts to keep such thoughts away, Dima slowly found feelings for the other man. Especially once Swiss was open about his bisexuality. Dima struggled with these feelings initially, but with Swiss's support and understanding, the two entered a hidden relationship. It wasn't what Swiss wanted, but Dima was still cautious and unwilling to make their relationship public. So it remained hidden, something only shared between the two in their moments alone. But that was enough, they were happy and things moved quickly, exchanging promise rings before too long.

Shortly after the mission concluded. And while Swiss and Dima kept in contact and would coordinate their leaves to spend what time they could together. Duty called, and Dima was thrust into a long-term and incredibly involved covert mission, forcing him to cut off contact with everyone.

The only one who has any knowledge about Dima's current state is a Russian mercenary. Dima and this man do not get along, but it is the only way for Dima to reach the outside world and have the outside world reach him.
