JASMINE THE DRAGON
The not so graceful monk.
ABOUT
Jasmine to visitors of the Snowscape Monastery is seen as serene, mysterious, and knowledgeable leader. Often leaving some awestruck due to her floating in the air at all times, most often about two inches off the ground. Her control of the air and winds seen as a spectacle and beautiful. Not to even mention her draconic blood.
But her fellow monks tend to know what she is really like, not mysterious at all she tends to be an open book. People just tend to not want to get to know her as Jasmine, rather wanting to know her as the Abbess. They also know of her... affliction. The curse had manifested after her fifth birthday and since then she's had extremely bad luck. Anytime there is a storm lightning will strike her twice if she's outside, she's banned from cooking because whenever she does there is a fire, or if she even steps on the ground she will trip over herself every other step. But she has never let this bring her down, she has come to accept this as her life and punishment, keeping a level head like any other monk prodigy.
While she is and teaches to be a pacifist, she will defend herself and others by fighting when it is absolutely necessary. Her control over the winds helps keep any foe at bay or even slice them.
BIOGRAPHY
"There is nothing wrong with a life of peace and prosperity. I suggest you think about what it is you want from your life."
Many years ago the Tia family of dragons were menaces, known for being greedy and extremely violent. Stealing from others, but destroying anyone who tried to take their possessions back. They'd never show any care for anyone, even those in the family. Each hoard would grow to an unnecessary amount, often residing in caves or on top of mountains.
Word would spread about this family of dragons, until one lone magic user would confront the head of the family. They demanded the dragons to give back everything they wrongly took or else, but the dragons only laughed.
"How can one tiny magician stand up against me?"
The mage warned the dragon to head their words but it was falling on deaf ears. Calling upon their magic they set a curse upon any Tia family dragon who lives or will live. The mage told the dragons they would be back eventually to undo the curse once they feel the family has made enough penance for what they have done.
At first the family didn't think anything happened, but soon various curses would manifest on each member. The curse would rarely be the same thing, often becoming a foil to the person. Some would get an uncurable sickness, extremely bad luck, losing their voice, becoming frail, or even losing any sort of power they had.
Slowly over time the family grew past their original natures. But yet the mage never showed their face. Some family members grew desperate in curing these curses by becoming scholars or mages to find a way where they could get rid of it on their own. But they were never able to come up with anything. Some other dragons would give up on finding a way to be cured and would instead focus on giving back and finding peace, where they would find such at the Snowscape Monastery.
Which lead to the current time. Jasmine Tia is the abbess of the monastery. Who lives with her curse in contentment, and has seen this curse as a blessing in disguise. To her if they were never shown the error of their ways they'd still be living a sinful existence. While the family has dwindled in numbers she still has remained strong.
Even with the mage no where in sight..
