Detailed Info

They are created by natural ancient energy of gems and, mostly important, children dreams where they feed on their imagination stream. For that to happen the children need to believe; if, in the future, they stop believing, the Geogems die. Although, only some Geogems die ( the ones who don't have Legendary or Ultra Rare Gems ), the more powerful ones will protect their child during their lifetime.

Geogems can see each other, but children can't see others geogems, since Geogems keep themselves in their childs imagination field.

Light Geogems are protective, kind, caring, healers; they can sacrifice their life to protect their child.

Dark Geogems on other end, can go two ways : If the child's weak minded, they feed on their energy so they can possess them in the future ( this method is mostly used by low ranked Geogems ). The other way is if they find a wicked/twisted child, they instigate the evil in them even more, making them their partner in crime ( only Ultra Rare and Legendary Geogems can do it ).

Only Ultra Rare and Legendary Geogems can fight each other. Although, If one of them dies, the child they're protecting dies as well. 

As they get attached to the child they are protecting, their powers grow with their relationship; when they're strong enough they use their gems to transform themselves into their feral forms - which they use to walk around as a "pet" and be seen by anyone in the common world . When it comes to the point where the bond between them and their child is unbreakable, they can choose to give up their Gem to become humans and walk among people as they do on their feral form; although they keep their powers.

The gem stores the childs dreams energy but the feathers are the ones who collect it . If you break the gem they instantly die; if you cut the feathers they start to die slowly as the gem energy is drained. And Geogems don't reborn.
