Overview
A church resident that, despite their age, isn't enrolled in school. Instead, they tag along wherever they'd like and pester anyone they want to. Surprisingly, Valax seems to be very close to Asterot, who is unusually charitable towards both their actions and their words. Often, spectators wonder whether there's some kind of familial connection, based off of their looks and their behavior. If you asked them personally, you'd get very confusing answers. Asterot: "No relation." Valax: "He's my father, obviously!" Technically, neither of these descriptions are quite right - During his time imprisoned, Asterot was subjected to some experiments focused on replicating a dragon for dark uses. Unfortunately for the Agarthans, Asterot took the egg with him when he escpaed and raised it as his own.
Valax's life has brought them to many corners of the world through Asterot's adventures. Before they settled at the monastery together, Valax enjoyed following along and meeting people all over the world. Asterot's lack of care towards humans made it so that they could never stay in one place for long, so they're really excited to have a chance to spend time around humans and really see what makes them act the way they do. It's clear why Valax isn't a true student if you know their background, though - Of course Asterot wouldn't risk putting them on the battlefield when they've had no combat training whatsoever. Indeed, despite Valax's years spent with one of the greatest warriors in Fodlan, they've almost never touched a sword. Instead, they stayed home with the humans Asterot protected and became fascinated with their ways and cultures.
