Elysibold

Elysibolds are a race of kobolds from a land beyond the clouds known as Elysia. While they can't fly, they can jump incredibly far, and are light enough to be carried by wind. Elysibolds use their natural affinity with lightning magic to create whips which they use to grapple onto things. Their tails are nearly lighter than air and always partially floating. They tend to wear heavy clothing to keep themselves from flying away like a kite on a windy day. That being said, some more adventurous elysibolds will simply let the wind take them where ever it pleases.

In humanoid society elysibolds tend to favor jobs involving technology and/or security. Their lightning affinity allows them to power machinery. They like being high up which helps them keep a look out for foes, and their lightning magic allows them to quickly neutralize threats from a safe distance.

The biggest threat to elysibolds in Elysia wasn't hostile beasts. The biggest threat to their species was "falling off of the map." Since regular elysibolds can't fly, if a gust of wind knocks them off a floating island they're going to fall forever if they can't grab onto something in time. Elysibolds also don't take fall damage.
