Bayou's and Lake's biological father. Calling him a "bad father" wouldn't be entirely wrong, though perhaps a bit harsh; he never intended to cause his kids any harm, he's moreso just a very reclusive merman who was highly underprepared to be a dad when Bayou was first born and didn't know how to properly be one, constantly being quite distant and then eventually leaving before Lake was born. He has a lot of secrets that he's harbored from Bayou (including the fact that he has a sister), being afraid of the consequences if he ever told the truth, convincing himself that it would help his kids remain safe if they were unaware of their dad's past. He's been in hiding for a while now, and nobody's exactly sure where he stays or if he's even still alive aside from his only remaining true friend, Salmon. Salmon is consistent about trying to persuade Caspian to leave his home and actually meet his kids to apologize to them and attempt to reconnect to them, also wanting him to open up about his past, but he remains very stubborn and uncertain that it would be worth it at all.
