Colin was human. But he became an aquatic slime creature after an unfortunate accident of gelatin overdose. Overwhelmed by events, he had only his old friend Niko to comfort him.  Over time, he ate a lot and put on a lot of weight. He experimented and lived up to the expectations of his new body (or so he says). He's not worried about his weight gain, and on the contrary, his large size is quite respected in slime culture.
