Basic lore: Mashi was born to her parent as an already dying child whose heart was suffering from unknown illness. Her parents out of desperation sought help from anyone they could. Eventually they stumbled upon an old sorcerer, who used his magic to replace her heart with enteral flame. The flame never needed fuel, however, it can be extinguished if not careful. The fire responds to Mashis emotions, for example, burning larger when she is angry or ecstatic.
