Colette Therese Demarteau was born on the 22nd of November, 1882, to a wealthy catholic couple. She was diagnosed with sickle cell disease early in her life, and though she was receiving treatment, her illness led to her untimely passing on the 31st of December, 1908. She was only 16 years old.

As if it were fate that she'd been born late into a beautiful November night, Colette spent her life wishing to shine brightly as the full moon. She had a dream, from a young age, to be an acting star.

She was obsessed with a particular theatre troupe, and wanted to learn to dance and sing to impress large crowds, just as those actors and actresses did.

Despite her passion, much of her earlier childhood was spent in her bed, as she rarely had the strength to do much else.

Colette's family do not know the details of her passing-- she'd snuck away from home and had been gone for multiple hours by the estimated time of death. Her cause of death has been identified as a brain hemorrage, with severity worsened by anemia.

Though gone from our sight, Colette lives on in the memory of her family, as well as her old best friend, Blanche Cartier.
