Yasa

His full name is Tokugawa Yasashiku of Matsudaira clan (surname written first, their first is Yasashiku, nicknamed Yasa)

He hails from a remote octoling town which still very much keeps in touch with its traditional values but also it’s a tight knit community where nudism is practised and often the norm there. Tattooing there is a sacred practise where one’s achievements are marked on the body with a tebori tattoo technique. Earliest tattoo someone can get is when turning 18, it marks the transition into adulthood. The more tattoos = the more achievements = more respect/honor. 

Yasa decided to explore out of his own town and found himself on the road to Splatsville, ends up getting arrested a few times since he still wasn’t familiar with the whole “You can’t be nude in public here.” And with his knowledge on language it was very limited. Ends up getting into a government organised system which helps Octolings better integrate into Inkling society wether it be familiarising yourself with law or common practises or learning the language. There’s also a support system where octolings pair up with an inkling and temporarily live with them and that’s what Yasa gets himself into.
