- At peace with them being a ghost. Their family alienated them because of it and early on she hated this part of herself, but after she left she made peace with it.
- Can see and talk with ghosts. Could be their guide, helping uneasy spirits reach afterlife, but Farewell doesn't care about them. Too bad for them.
- Has a sealskin they're very protective of. Can summon and unsummon it and physically wear it like a coat. As long as it remains in their possession, they can shapeshift between forms.

Backstory pitch: Selkie parents had a son named Oleander who sadly succumbed to illness. In their grief they swam up to the surface during the full moon and left an offering on the rocks to the moon. The moon deity agreed to help them, but being a trickster god by nature, they decided to test the selkies. They told them to return in three days' time. On the third night they found a baby wrapped in seaweed, selkie but not quite, their child but not quite.
Their dear Oleander was gone and in his place the moon gave the pair a new child, they soon discovered. Half selkie half ghostly, young and curious like their lost son but soon the differences in personality became apparent.
They were given a new first name Farewell for they are the Farewell to Oleander
