They've been very obviously musically gifted since very young age - as it was expected. Their mother is an opera singer and their father used to be a rock star, which are such different genres but perhaps it was the diversity that brought them together. Unlike either of them, Kendall has actually finished music production and despite amazing vocal abilities, they want to make music that has a meaning rather than being purely commercial.
Despite being five years older than Charis, they've hit it off with her almost immediately and they're very close friends. It's mostly gossip and shittalking about other musicians around them but they're genuine friends and often help each other out.
They seem to think mentor, Huizhong, doesn't really have his life together and that he's lonely, mostly because he's always around his child or them, or the kid's babysitter who's also around Kendall's age, but they aren't so open to tell him that so instead they just try to nudge him towards more social situations.
