💌 – Elise

elise lived an incredibly turbulous life before she came to unicorn academy.

 it all started when she met a handsome young colt named kaladin. the young elise and kaladin were childhood friends who fell in love, but their love was forbidden by their races: they were both unicorns, but from different clans. the sun clan, kaladin's clan, ruled the kingdom and oppressed the moon clan, elise's clan. not only that, but kaladin was the son of the clan's king and elise was a mere.. well, clan member - she was nothing but expendable. the sun king found out and separated them. he lied to kaladin that elise had died, and forced her father to take her to a hidden valley. elise became bitter and cold, and stopped using her love magic.

years later, kaladin, who had rebelled against his father and searched for elise, found the valley and tried to reconcile with her. elise was confused and conflicted, but still felt love for him. they were attacked by the sun king's soldiers, who wanted to kill them both. they fought back, and used their love to create a powerful blast of light that destroyed their enemies.

they survived, but were badly wounded. because elise had more magic, she eventually recovered, while kaladin, who had been weakened by his long trek, was not as lucky. the mare tried desperately to keep him alive, but his body and internal organs had been brutally bruised by the power emitted by the blast. he died in her arms(?).

unbelievably traumatized and living with immense guilt, elise began to wander and eventually found herself at unicorn island. she had already given up on everything and decided to give platonic love a try, so she stayed at unicorn academy and has bonded with countless young riders. 

although she looks kind, the mare is fueled by rage and guilt. she can seem very harsh at times, but bonds extremely deeply when she does feel something for someone.
