Aside from prompts and character development, I'd use them to really explore the sort of culture around food and trait effects that ingredi-ants have!
this character and the description remind me of Perfect Blue, so i would give them a backstory as the former lead singer of an idol group, with a very closely-kept secret that few other bugs know...
i would also use them for events!! i think it would be fun to use them to help build the world and i can see them in a lot of different kinds of interactions with other ingrediants :D
