Story

Sylvan is found as a baby outside an orphanage.

He comes to Hogwarts at the age of 4 and little Sylvan chooses Snape as his guardian, or simply toddles after him, clings to his leg and won't leave him alone. Snape then becomes Sylvan's guardian rather involuntarily.

At the age of 11, he becomes a pupil at Hogwarts, his house is Slytherin.
Sylvan is a pretty good student, but has hardly any friends. He prefers to spend most of his time on his own, doing things that interest him. His only real friend at the beginning is Draco, because he already knows him.

Over the course of the school year, he makes friends with Fiona Faithly*, a Hufflepuff student who often sees Sylvan alone and then always joins him.

In 4th year, Zoé Dubois* comes to Hogwarts and attaches herself to the small group.

During one of the Christmas holidays, he befriends Harry, as the two of them are among the few students who spend Christmas at Hogwarts, and this leads to Sylvan's circle of friends gradually growing.

Sylvan's pet is a ferret called Basil, which he chooses as a pet shortly before he becomes a student at Hogwarts. Basil loves to sleep in the hoods of Sylvan's hoodies (which is one of the reasons why Sylvan usually wears hoodies for casual wear).

Sylvan becomes a chaser on the Quidditch team in 2nd year.

He knows his way around the Forbidden Forest quite well, as he occasionally collects ingredients for potions there with Snape, likes to spend time there in his Animagus form or accompanies Fiona there to look for ingredients for her baking recipes.
