Hums between the honeycombs

A disgruntled professional ghost hunter takes on one final job. It’s at the old crumbling bartlebee candy emporium that’s sat off the edge of the highway for years. However deep within the concrete chassis Paxton Powers, veteran paranormal investigator, discovers whatever’s wrong with this place..it’s no ghost..in fact it was never human to begin with

The Factory

The factory, which has no name intentionally, sits on a hill in a field by an old highway. Cars pass by and when they do the drivers speed up a little, unconsciously the drivers feel something’s just not right about this patch of highway. Buzzing can be heard from bees, but no bees can be seen and the humming noise seems to come from somewhere deep below the ground. Where the true factory lies, an impossibly large distorted space formed by the supernatural energy seeping through the concrete.

The factory changes constantly, doors that existed before will vanish and staircases will go up and then suddenly swerve downwards in zigzag shapes. The geometry is frustrating and disorienting. Entire fields of flowers exist in the factory and the flowers are made up of ghosts Trapped within the flowers and screaming and sobbing. Other rooms are filled with endless wires and piping. The factory is littered with TVs and they tend to cluster together in the shape of honeycombs. They can burst open with honey and the beetrices can travel through the wires.

The Ghosts

Unfortunate victims lured into the factory and trapped by beetrice. Ghost or human, anyone who wanders into the factory is turned into a candy abomination or a human faced flower. They are regularly abused and tormented by beetrice.

How does the story end?

The factory crumbles to dust, as it is swallowed into the earth it corrupted for so long. Paxton escapes the factory just in the Knick of time and despite everything that has happened she’s gained a newfound perspective. There ARE more than just ghosts out there more strange and odd things to discover, and the cruelty of the world can be overcome. So she picks herself up and walks back into the company to resign, but she also plans to start up her own service, to counteract the company she used to work for, many employees and even upper management will follow after her out of respect for her importance in the company's creation. She’s gained back her fight and wonder for the paranormal. And it’s a very sweet ending with her finding what was lost and feeling hopeful for the future.

The world isn’t perfect, it’s still scary and the problems that worried Paxton before largely still exist but. She’s not hopeless about changing things and fighting against them anymore, the future has a direction and a plan. She has a roadmap and determination. There is a future and the world has warmth and life. It is worth fighting for, it’s not the gray shell she thought it was.

On the hill on the field by the highway bees, normal bees, that don’t grin and sneer, buzz through the flowers and grass, the sun shines less cruelly and not a car passes by. It’s a peaceful image of a place that used to hold so much cruelty now having been destroyed and grown back over by nature.
