Crybreak is a serious and lonesome individual who avoids interacting or engaging with others for fear of them taking advantage of the magical aura of good luck that follows them. They go to great lengths to flee interactions, avoid obligations, and keep to themselves. While they are dependable and always treat everything with the severity it deserves, they don't really know how to relax or trust others, leading to them bing incredibly independent and never accepting help from others. Even if they clearly need it.
It is largely self-sufficient in every way, but often drives itself to anxiety and stress in its efforts to make the world do the bare minimum of leaving it alone. It has little to no desire for companionship, and would really rather just fade into the background.
- It has no memory or understanding of its former existence being a crystal. It knows its origins- that's clear by the crystal elements still embedded in its flesh and the fact that it woke up abed a sea of sapphires, but it wasn't alive prior to that
- It is generally very evasive and doesn't like to be seen, it often frequents caves and dark places where it can try to avoid the living, but it has basic needs that must be met- forcing it out of hiding and into danger whether it likes it or not.
Crybreak is a large natural sapphire that was given life by a massive influx of arcane energy from a source it currently doesn't know. (Eruption from the great sundering). It morphed into a carbuncle- a legendary creature said to bring good luck to those around it. And it does...but not by choice. It uses it's magical abilities as an enfused stone to try and dismiss the good luck it would normally bring in hopes of being left alone and not catching unwanted attention that would cause others to try to take advantage of it.
Which has a different effect...namely- that then people wonder what the source is of this strange magical font in a world where magic is slowly dying. Leading Crybreak to be on the run from hunters who seek its powers. It doesn't know if losing its magic would make it also lose its life...and frankly- it doesn't want to find out.
