Backstory
Peyton Arel joined the Crownsguard after her mother died.
Her mother had been a Crownsguard and always wanted her to be one, but Peyton had always blown it off, made her way through school by copying her friends' homework, partied on weekends, never put much thought to her future.
Her father was overbearing, and was quite disappointed in Peyton, and her mother never really bothered getting to know her, being gone all the time.

She has a set of twin brothers, much younger than she.
Her mom died mysteriously, while stationed far away, the family received a cold letter informing them.
Peyton joined the Crownsguard, saying she was searching for answers to what happened to her mother, but really, she just wanted to get out of the house.

She never really fit in with the guard, had no particular dedication or patriotism, and spent a lot of the time shirking duty, even though she admired the officers like celebrities.
By nature, she was good with guns, some of her only fond memories of her mother are of being taken to the shooting range as a small child.
However, after a quite embarrassing incident at a public exhibition, Peyton was dishonorably discharged from the military and told never to show her face in town again.
Peyton had grown up hearing tales of the mysterious Hunters' Guild, and daydreamed about joining, but never seriously looked into it, until the day the she awoke in a strange place with no memory of how she arrived there…

And that’s where the story began.
