About
To encounter The World is to encounter a great unity and wholeness.
Few comforts are so timeless as fate. Even amongst the star-studded populace of Caer Sidi, where immortality is a signature away, not everything can be so easily chalked up to the might of man. Still, those who claim to actually see the thread of destiny's needle are few and far between indeed.
Such is the nature of Morrow, who has held this "pattern" close since childhood. To Morrow, the world and its workings have always made deep instrinsic sense. Dreamy and self-assured, they float life unfettered by fear or indecision. After all, they're always where they need to be.
Personality
Morrow has been odd as long as they can remember. Wispy and mercurial, they sail along bright as a spark, eager to share their understanding of the universe and its machinations.
Depending on the moment, Morrow swings from wide-eyed and wise beyond their years to sly and mischievous. They love to make friends, and they love to learn new and strange things -- and, above all, they delight in risk-taking. Since everything works out as it should, what's the harm of walking along the knife's edge?
Trivia
- They sleep in a custom-commissioned coffin.
- They're a bit of a magpie! They have accidentally sticky fingers -- which is to say, they walk out of places and find they've accidentally taken little things. They tend to give those things as gifts!
- Their birthname is Winona. They don't dislike it, and still go by Winnie sometimes!
- They've had the quilt in their cor since they were very small.
- They've smoked (cigarettes) since they were 15.
Affiliation
Position
Perhaps due to their earnest belief in the necessity of all things, Morrow is a proponent of all clashing factions within Caer Sidi -- even when that clashing gets ugly.
Connections
Family
Morrow never knew their mother, and their father was formally taken away when they were 17. It's okay; everything happens for a reason.
Conny
A new friend, who Morrow thinks is very special. What a gift, to show the world to someone!
Megrez
Whimsy incarnate. How very fun!
Gabriel
One of Morrow's very best friends, who they met in college. They don't talk much anymore.
Ducklings
Morrow's other very best friends who they met in college. 1, 2, 3. Morrow talks to them every day!

File 1
the fool Load StateBorn Winona Morning from a yawning eggshell of a mother. They imagine it buttercream yellow, like the rest of their life to date: fashioned perfectly in form and function.
Flitting through names and fancies, Winona-then-Winnie found themself a solitary, shining thread in humanity's pattern. With their peculiar nature and unwavering (quite precocious) convictions, it was little surprise that few others gravitated to Winnie-then-Morrow the way Morrow gravitated to them.
All the moreso when the news broke of their faither's proclivity for murdering ████████ █████ █████ ████ █████ ████ ████. Needless to say, they've been alone for quite some time.
No worries! Morrow has always known better than anyone that everything is the way it has to be.
File 2
the wheel of fortune Load StateIt's difficult to say if Morrow's strange nature informed or was informed by their daredevil streak. What's for certain is that Morrow has always been interested in flirting with disaster -- whatever that may look like at the given moment.
So despite their gentle demeanor, Morrow has been known to jump head-first into the figurative shark tank. On tamer days, this reflects back to their smoking habit, or their proclivity for rollercoasters; others, their habit of taking dangerous bets and playing with fire has landed them in the hospital for days at a time.
Regardless of outcome, Morrow always comes out the other side grinning, eager for another thrill. There are few things more wonderful than experiencing life to its fullest, after all -- to feel the future whip into fruition, like volcanic wind scorching their cheeks.
File 3
temperance Load StateTheir first year of college, Morrow met their friends.
It isn't that Morrow had never had friends before; rather, that these friends, with their good morning texts and reminders to eat, their seamless knitting together with each other and with Morrow, felt somehow less transient. Morrow was not untethered from their lives as they were from everything, because they had been cupped, dandelion-like, in the careful hands of those who wished to keep them near.
And so it was that these four friends were very special: not to the pattern, necessarily, but to Morrow.
After college, they lived together, all five of them. After some deliberation, they even went and signed the paperwork together: five unbleeders with five sets of inserts, and five cors, each wound in threads of gold.
File 4
the tower Load StateThey were out driving one night when Morrow decided to kill them.
It felt necessary, suddenly, to die together. Or maybe they'd live -- that, too, would be wonderful! Either way, they'd picked out their inserts; the pattern was set as it always had been. Nothing could happen that wasn't meant to. And so Morrow sped up. And so the car crashed.
It was more horrific than they'd intended; the car was further out from downtown Caer Sidi than they'd realized. There are very few things that can prevent a corpse from being turned into an Unbleeder. Extensive burn damage makes the list.
Morrow was revived nearly unscathed, save for a nasty scar across their back. Another was saved too, barely. The rest were gone, as quickly as they'd come in the first place.
File 5
the world Load StateMorrow believes in the pattern now more than ever.
It makes a certain sense. As it is, Morrow worships faithfully at the altar of fate as they perceive it, a candle they keep carefully and quietly lit against their chest. Otherwise, they would have to accept the unacceptable: that they are just a normal person, who brought about the painful and permanent death of nearly everyone who's ever truly loved them.
How sad! They choose not to think of it like that. Instead, they continue on as they always have -- though maybe a bit more careful.
Only a bit, though. Nowadays, they're a professional organ donor: a highly experimental job for Unbleeders at Llawes Corp. For a few days every month, they have an organ or two removed in such a way that delays the regeneration process, making it easier for them to be transplanted into humans who need them -- honestly, the science goes a bit over Morrow's head! All they know is they need to stick around the hospital for a week or so to make sure everything goes okay.
Which suits them just fine. It's good to help, and to meet new and strange people!
So even if they're alone again, that's okay. Things happen as they're meant to happen. And Morrow is happy. Honest!
Design
- The gold in their cor is both gold thread and viscous liquid gold.
- They have a nasty burn scar on their back.
- Their hair is always a mess! It was extremely long before their death, but now it's just past their shoulders.
