Elliot is a young viscet, about the equivalent of a 14-year-old. Despite his age, he is extremely talented and proficient in anything to do with technology. This skillset came from when he was around ten, when his brother Manson suddenly disappeared from the household. His parents spent weeks trying to find their other son, but after hours of searching and weeks with no sleep, they still couldn’t find a trace of where he might have gone.
Local law enforcement was uncooperative in the Hermanez’s efforts and refused to do much of anything about it. The most they ever did was file a missing person’s report, but it was shady and Elliot doubted that it really even happened.
Realizing that no one else was going to help him, he decided to take matters into his own hands and figure out how to do it himself. So he started messing with computers, asking the local techies for tips, and soon was even surpassing the resident experts. He learned incredibly quickly, allowing him to climb to where he is now.
Using his new knowledge, Elliot forced his way into a cache of restricted access files meant only for government officials living within Central, hoping to find something about his brother that he could use. He had previously caught a very lucky break when he picked up some incredibly valuable information from a former worker with inside knowledge about where exactly some of these files were kept.
However, Elliot was forced to abandon his search early when he realized that he was being traced. He left the streets he had grown up on behind him in order to protect what remained of his family and everyone else near them, knowing that if he was caught, it wouldn’t just be him suffering.
The data that he did manage to save before abandoning his laptop in one of the waterways and fleeing the area seemed useless and non-pertinent at first, but after combing through them in an attempt of desperation, he discovers a single document mentioning something called “Project Eternus”.
This finding drives Elliot to pursue this mysterious and obscure operation. He continues to work towards uncovering what truly is happening within Central and what the city leaders are doing. The more he learns, the more he’s motivated to continue. He finds that not only is Manson involved in the project, but that thousands more have been “recruited” against their will in order to further what the records call research.
