"Why should I trust some adults like you?

Meeting a four-year-old in a soup kitchen and being the only guardian for him isn't how most 11-year-olds spend their days. In fact, most 11-year-olds would be terrified to be in that situation. After four years of doing that, you just get used to it. Lose sight of said child, and you find him in two strangers' house. You're lucky he's not dead. Take him back to... wherever you can find to sleep. Sure, the strangers are letting you stay, but why should you trust them? How do you know that they didn't lead Lo here? You're his only role model, you know. Keep him safe.
