He’s a human who got caught up in a summoning gone wrong; in trying to glean some guidance from their god they mistakenly summoned a fiend who spared Casper. He was cursed by the fiend for participating in such a fools errand but bestowed the power to become a warlock to ferry souls to the infernal plane. His scars and injuries are a result of possession by his patron and the ensuing fight. He believes artificers are responsible for outfitting him with such advanced prosthetics.
