While calming down from the adrenaline, the agent looked at the creature again, but this time she was entranced by it. It felt like it was calling her somehow. Ida stood in front of the tub, just staring, drowning out the sounds of gunshots and her comrade's yelling.

The sudden stomping of feet soon rushed towards Ida's direction, as well as the incoherent sound of yelling, and before she could do anything, she blacked out, feeling her body fall and hit the cold floor.

[Major/Heavy Timeskip, Four Decades Later . . . ]

Ida wakes up on a cold table. She's unsure what happened to her or her comrades, the mission. Upon holding her head due to a sudden pain, she realizes her hand is different. She quickly notices her entire body is different and is no longer human.

She clumsily staggers off the table towards a nearby glass window, revealing her new face. She's wearing the visor the scientist showed her, and her actual face is nothing more than a decayed human skull with a few plants sprouting within. Despite the sickening reality, Ida tried to get used to her new body and not think about why the men in white chose her to perform this sick experiment on.
