Quetzalli [REDACTED]'s Links
Aeo is in charge of the pharmaceutical branch that Quetzalli works for. They hold a strong respect for the CEO and enjoy working under them. Quetzalli has been consistently working on a side project for Aeo which has, in turn, helped further Quetzalli’s own research on rarer toxins. They see this as a mutually beneficial situation and enjoys the challenge it poses.
Esperos is not the type to have… long lasting employees under his higher circles. Quetzalli is a rare case where one did last more than a few decades. The CEO holds very high regards for the toxicologiest and thinks they understand the idea of progress Aeo has. Who would have said that Ono could sprout such competent creatures. There are many plans ajead for the onoiam if they show themselves- able to keep a secret or two.
Wun is a fellow deep sea dweller, and Quetzalli often spends whatever little free time they have visiting their friend. Both fans of the macabre, their conversations tend to center around various elements of death and decay. They may not see each other often, but when they do, it’s common for them to talk for hours while taking a nice long walk.
Another in the deep dark depths of the Ocean planet! Also a face that Sun doesn't have to censor their more morose curiosities about. There's a comfort in the feeling that others may not see the idea of death as a horror, but rather a fantastic curiosity of a soul returning back to the soil it came from.
Willow is a close colleague of Quetzalli’s. They share a lot of similar views when it comes to science and the pursuit of progression. They have co-written many a scientific paper together, some more questionable than others. The only thing they heavily disagree on is LB, but they have agreed to disagree. After all, the pursuit of scientific progress trumps both of their feelings about LB.
One of Willow's closest colleagues that sees science the same way she does: Do anything to succeed. Throughout their long lifetimes Quetzalli and Willow have co-worked and co-wrote many research projects on the effects and rehabilitation efforts surrounding various toxins. Although Willow doesn't like LB, the pursuit of scientific greatness trumps all.
Carcaza is a fellow LB employee, though from a complete different section of LB. Despite this, they have a good business relationship with an ongoing deal between the two of them. Carcaza brings back any strange substances she happens upon when looting shipwrecks, and Quetzalli inspects these substances to see if any of them are good for research purposes. If so, he makes sure to pay Carcaza for her efforts. She has also graciously donated some of her hair for research purposes, which Quetzalli was ecstatic about. They are currently teaching the pirate how to use the stinging features of her hair, for better or for worse.
Sometimes the nature of her kills result in...potentially dangerous cargo needing to be disposed of. Carcaza has made a habit of taking any hazardous or toxic cargo to Quetzalli before she pawns it off elsewhere. Better in the hands of a Leaping Bunny scientist than who knows where, right? Plus, she almost always gets paid a pretty penny for it. She doesn't talk about the exact nature of her Leaping Bunny connection with them. Best not to disclose such dealings, even with someone so high up in one of the CEO's circles. Knowing they work with toxins, she's agreed to provide a sample of the stinging cells within her hair in exchange for more information on how they work exactly. Some personal research if you will.
Minka and Quetzalli bonded over their shared interest in chemistry. They constantly share new compounds each one has discovered with the other, and share the corresponding results of said compounds. It’s quite interesting just how many similar compounds go into both explosives and poisons. Quetzalli tends to act as a sort of crazy uncle towards Minka, and enjoys seeing her genuine excitement at the discovery of new compounds for her fireworks.
Quetzalli has shown Minka a lot of new ways to create different fireworks, and in return Minka has shared some of her chemistry knowledge. She has been trying to crack this old doctor into relaxing once in a while. While they are trying, Minka can't help but cringe sometimes.
Victor is one of Quetzalli’s external connections for various fungi that is not easily acquired. They appreciate the young ranger’s help and have respected any hesitation he may have towards giving out more sensitive information. Quetzalli is no stranger to withholding info.
One of Victor's benefactors. Quetzalli will occasionally request Victor for acquisition or characterization of various fungi under Victor's care. Victor is very specific about the information he gives Quetzalli when it comes to more endangered plants and fungi, but he's happy to have an academic conversation and networking with people outside of his direct field.
As a fellow LB scientist, Quetzalli respects Lo'enn's knowledge and drive. While these two don't often interact, when they do, it always ends up with some sort of shenanigans. These two boomers definitely are a pair to be wary of when seen at work.
While Lo’enn has not crossed paths too much with the toxicologist due to differing branches within Leaping Bunny, the encounters that DO happen often can be seen as.. shenanigans. It’s never meant to be serious, just two scientists seeing each other for their skills.
Quetzalli has conflicting emotions towards the king. While they are undoubtedly loyal to them, being as he is their ruler, they understand the weakness of the king's body. They hold close the task given to them, to strengthen the king, no matter the cost.
Quetzalli is one of Vak's official scientists. Vak's family has been going through extensive research on how to make Vak less ... fragile. Quetz got hired through Esperos, a close confidant of the royal family. And currently consents to undergo extensive experimentation.
Quetzalli doesn't know too much about Rowan, but is aware of the close relationship between him and the king. Being the king's personal doctor, him and Quetzalli often interact when they give the king his... medicine. They make sure to stay respectful of the doctor and try not to get too friendly, just in case.
Quetzalli met Ja Tau during their travels to Atlussen II. They were very excited to show off their collection of curiosities, and that excited attitude rubbed off on Quetzalli. They have to admit, the collection is very curious and it was enjoyable to hear about the history behind the objects. The two have stayed in touch since, and Quetzalli always looks forward to hearing about new additions to the traveling museum.
